British Royal Navy HMS Unicorn, S-43, last British Navy`s diesel-electric submarine   HMS Unicorn was the last of the Upholder class, last submarine to be built by Cammell Laird. Laid down in February 1989; launched on April 16 ,1982; commissioned June 25, 1983. On October 16th 1994 Unicorn carried out the very last dive by a British diesel electric submarine with the Flag Officer Submarines (FOSM), Vice Admiral Roger Lane-Nott, aboard.
